What should I bring for the cruise?

Snow birds get ready for sundreanched Roatan! Wear you swim suit and bring strong sun block, hats, sunglasses, cover ups, and a towel. If you have your own snorkel gear, please bring it along. If you do not have snorkel gear then Jolly Roger will supply all the snorkel gear that you need!

Should I bring a camera?
Absolutely! Bring your land camera for great scenic shots of Roatan Island and the Jolly Roger Catamaran while we cruise. Please consider bringing your underwater camera, or buying a disposable underwater camera tfor great photos of our colorful reef and eachother snorkeling. Our snorkeling guides are glad to assist you with your camaras.

What will the weather be like?
We try very hard not to predict the weather, but there are plenty of web sites that will give you the forecast a week in advance. Check out wunderground.com for Roatan's current forecast.

How long does the cruise last?
For cruise ship passengers, we adjust the length of the cruise to accommodate the ship schedule. Generally, our cruises take between 4 and 6 hours, with our wonderful Caribbean buffet lunch and open bar included.

Can you teach me how to snorkel?
The Jolly Roger does have a professional snorkel guide on board who can offer tips and assistance on snorkeling, and also look out for your safety while you are in the water. We have snorkel vests to help keep you comfortably afloat if you are not a seasoned snorkeler.

What are we going to see?
We sail along the Great Western Barrier Reef to provide optimum snorkeling spots. The Roatan Coral reef provides colorful living coral, tropical fish, dolphins, turtles, lobsters, starfish, conch, sea fans, and a variety of living marine plants. Above the water are beautiful rolling green hills, quaint villegers, and white sand beaches set with beautiful palm trees and honduran hard woods.

What time zone is Roatan in?
Roatan does not change the clock for daylight savings time. Therefore, in the spring and summer, Roatan local time is the same as US Mountain time zone. In the fall and winter, Roatan local time is the same as US Central time zone.

Can I use US currency on Roatan?
The local currency is the lempira. Jolly Roger, like every business on Roatan, will accept either lempiras or US dollars. Click here to find out the current exchange rate.

Is Roatan safe?
Yes!
We suggest that you use the same common sense that you would when traveling anywhere in the world. Leave valuable jewelry and adornments at home! The less you bring to worry about the more relaxing your trip will be.
